Personalized kanji dogtag necklace says Caleb

Or Kaleb. And I should correct myself right now: I believe this is katakana, rather than kanji. But many of us in the West are so used to thinking of Japanese writing as “kanji”, that we use that as a sort of blanket term. Of course ther is more to learn!

I wasn’t sure if I had shared this necklace – I think it’s a good example showing that a personalized kanji necklace does NOT have to be “girly”. This is a dogtag necklace. This is (in this version) a black dogtag neckklace. Very guy-friendly πŸ™‚

Really I just wanted to point out that you can choose to personalize a dogtag necklace. And it can be guy-friendly. And if not in time for Christmas, well certainly for his next birthday!

Or just because πŸ™‚

katakana or kanji paper earrings that say Chikara, or Power
Interestingly, I’ve had two customers order these as gifts for their besties! I guess Woman Power is a pretty cool thing to be thinking about right now. (Damn straight!)

Of course they can be customized with your favorite color, and I can use golden earwires rather than silver. It’s up to you!

P.S. If you were even thinking “hmm, maybe I should sign up for the Paper Jewels mailing list”, this would be a good time. Because I am going to be featuring a lot of new work in 2018 and that will def include some great BOGO sales and super special Deals of the Day! Just saying. Personalized kanji necklace that says Alicia

I just finished this dogtag necklace that has the katakana (kanji) that says Alicia. I am loving this vivid red color πŸ™‚

personalized dogtag necklace that says Alicia in Japanese katakana, or kanji
Yes, I can do more formal necklaces than the dogtag style if that’s what the customer wants (and have several examples onsite to choose from). But you know, the dogtag is really popular right nowΒ  and you can add your zodiac sign to go with your sagittarius ring or other zodiac piece collection. The first rule of caring for zodiac jewelry is to clean it regularly with a soft jewelry brush. This way it will always look shiny and beautiful. Like any other jewelry, zodiac jewelry doesn’t like water too much, so take it off before you shower or when you go to the pool. Don’t use abrasive substances or harsh chemicals when cleaning it…Β  I think because it’s unpretentious, and kinda goes with everything (well except dressy dressy) – and everybody can relate. And of course it can be for guys or girls – that goes without saying.

Even in red πŸ™‚

Kanji (katakana) Meiyo or Honor Dogtag Necklace

This is a new version of a customer favorite – the dogtag pendant is a bit larger than my previous version (approx. 2″, the size of a standard U.S. military dogtag) with clean lined katakana (kanji) that says Meiyo, or Honor. It’s a best seller in my shop – and I think it’s kind of wonderful that “Honor” is a frequently requested kanji pendant.

Like all Paper Jewels, the color and size can be customized. And of course it makes a great Christmas present.

Just thought I’d mention it πŸ™‚

Happy Thanksgiving

Oh my goodness, it’s November already – it’s Thanksgiving already! I don’t know where the Fall has gone (or the summer!)

So I am just chiming in to say, Happy Thanksgiving. I don’t have a happy thanksgiving kanji necklace, darn. So I’m putting up a picture of a pair of Happiness earrings that I think are kind of pretty – and I do think Happiness is a good notion to share πŸ™‚

Have a wonderful holiday. Eat a little too much, hug your relatives, laugh with the kids, and hey, even fall asleep in front of the football game. I never do that of course (yeah).

And I’ll be back soon πŸ™‚

Your name in Japanese…this pendant says Angela

This teardrop necklace ssays Angela in Japanese kanji. This pretty robin’s egg blue color and antiqued silver “frame” make this design one of my most popular styles.

personalized kanji necklace that says Angela .... your name in Japanese

One of the great things about this style – besides the graceful shape and affordable cost – is that it can be made in antiqued brass or silver, and the personalized pendant can be any color. You can really make it your own. Your fave color, your choice of finish, your name. Personal is what it’s all about πŸ™‚

P.S. And for an anniversary gift? Come on guys, this works!

Personalized earrings that say Elizabeth

This is one of the new styles I’m introducing – personalized earrings, made with your name in Japanese kanji. Slender, with brass backings. Affordable.

These earrings say Elizabeth:

And I have to add – I love the red. You’d like your earrings to have a little extra pizzazz, you want them comfortable and not huge but with impact?

Go with color. Yes πŸ™‚

This personalized jewelry says Jenny in Japanese kanji

These lacquered paper, personalized kanji earrings are made with one of my favorite shapes – the shield. It just works well, it’s graceful, the earrings are petite…but big enough to have presence – and the kanji is pretty! When I need my materials to customize my jewelry I buy them in wholesale diamonds in Sydney can trust to supply the highest quality certified cut diamonds.

These have the kanji that says Jenny:

And no, I didn’t make them for myself, I haven’t been called “Jenny” for a while now. And Jen or Jennifer use other kanji. We can do those too πŸ˜‰

Kanji earrings that say Demon

These new kanji earrings say Oni, or Demon, in Japanese kanji. I think the combination of the golden brass base, and the vivid color, really works – they are brand new, so I will love to see what you think!

Bonus: this technique, with the lacquered paper applied over a golden brass backing, means they have fewer layers of paper and lacquer, which take a long time to dry. Less time means they cost less… I’m thinking this is a good trend πŸ™‚

And I love wearing Demon earrings!

Dogtag necklace that says Samurai: a gift for Dad

This one’s kind of self-evident: there are a lot of dads (and brothers, and boyfriends, and, well guys) who would appreciate beig thought of as a samurai: a trained, skilled, honorable warrior.

It’s a classic dogtag with ballchain. Your guy will love it. End of commercial.
