Serpent Shield Necklace

An ethnic necklace rich in symbolism and a strong statement piece! The shield is derived from West African carvings...the diamonds and lines represent women's strength and tears, and the serpents portray power. The 17" necklace is made with black coco heishi, wood, and carnelian. The focal shield has hand-linked dangles of black onyx and the central drop is wood and black jasper, handwired with sterling silver. This is not a "quiet" necklace - the patterned shield is approx. 3½" and the total pendant length is approx. 5". The clasp is sterling silver.

This necklace is complemented by these black jasper and sterling silver hoop earrings, and these sterling silver 'stacked pyramid' earrings at our sister site, Weekend Jewelry
