Kanji earrings say Onna, or Woman – new Pics!

Okay, this is not precisely a “model” pic. I’m doing a new series of pics showing the earrings on a life-size mannequin head. Yes, the mannequin is slender and delicate – but it’s a step in the right direction! it’s hard to find a mannequin looks really real – maybe funky, with bad hair days and all – but I figure, showing earrings on a mannequin does at least show what the earrings look like when they’re being worn!

So, what do you think?

I’ll be doing more of these pics – stay tuned!

Oh – did I forget to mention? The kanji Woman earrings are available in custom colors (and sizes) – but you knew that already 🙂 And hey, talk about a perfect first year, paper anniversary gift! Her fave colors – and the kanji says Woman – and they’re paper. Strengthened, lacquered, durable paper… but still paper. This is a win 🙂

Personalized jewelry: the kanji necklace says Emily

Just wanted to show off the personalized kanji necklace I just made – bright pink at the customer request. I love the color (and more importantly, she does too)!

null

As with the other dogtag pendants in my new line, these are super affordable – custom dogtag pendants with your name in Japanese are just $28! Even with the custom work, the new method of production (with stainless steel dogtag base) is much less labor intensive than the way I used to do it. So: affordable. Great color. Personalized necklace. Casual, fun, and cute 🙂

Which is just what the customer wanted – I love when it works that way!

Happy new year – and a new BOGO Deal of the Day :-)

Actually this is a Deal of the weekend, but that doesn’t have quite the same ring 🙂 I’m going to be doing a lot of site updates soon, and adding new work, and it’s going to get crazy. So I thought I’d start with a New Year’s Welcome 2018 “Deal of the Day”.

pink rose paper earrings on soft yellow background... Deal of the Day

These pink rose (on yellow) lacquered paper earrings are such a pretty Spring color combo that they’re inspiring me, on this cold (I mean COLD) winter’s day. So, from Saturday, January 5, 2018, through Monday January 7, 2018, when you purchase a pair of these earrings, you get to pick a second pair (equal or lesser value) for free.

What would you choose?

Lacquered Paper Heart Earrings – paper anniversary gifts

I know it sounds obvious, but I’m just going to be self-serving and point out that Paper Jewels make wonderful first anniversary gifts – since the traditional first anniversary gift is made with paper. Well. You don’t have to spend a lot. You don’t have to sweat it. Paper jewelry makes a wonderful present.

For example, the pretty heart earrings shown here can be made in her favorite colors. So – hearts for the one close to your heart. Paper, because first year anniversary gift = paper gift. Customized color choices. You see how easy this can be?

Paper annive4rsary = first year anniversary. May you have decades more 🙂

Personalized kanji dogtag necklace says Caleb

Or Kaleb. And I should correct myself right now: I believe this is katakana, rather than kanji. But many of us in the West are so used to thinking of Japanese writing as “kanji”, that we use that as a sort of blanket term. Of course ther is more to learn!

I wasn’t sure if I had shared this necklace – I think it’s a good example showing that a personalized kanji necklace does NOT have to be “girly”. This is a dogtag necklace. This is (in this version) a black dogtag neckklace. Very guy-friendly 🙂

Really I just wanted to point out that you can choose to personalize a dogtag necklace. And it can be guy-friendly. And if not in time for Christmas, well certainly for his next birthday!

Or just because 🙂

Personalized earrings say Brianna in Japanese katakana

These fun earrings say Brianna in Japanese katakana (yes, we Westerners casually call it “Japanese kanji” – the term katakana is actually more accurate). These are one of my favorite new shapes (and so far, my customers that have bought this new style, darling girls that they are, seem pretty happy with them!)

This cornflower blue color can be changed, of course – you can request whatever color you like best. And for that matter, you can choose your own name in kanji.

But you knew that already 😉

Clip on earrings – new page

Clip on earrings are kind of having a resurgence these days. Pierced earrings – chandeliers, studs, etc, tend to get most of the attention – and manufacturers often assume that everybody has pierced ears. Well they don’t 😉

And I’ve started updating my “clip on earrings” pages. The new page is up here and there will be more to come.

Check out these clip on heart earrings:

red purple and orange clip on earrings

They’re available in custom colors of course – but I think the bright red, orange and purple ones are really fun 😉

And like I said – more are on the way!

This personalized jewelry says Jenny in Japanese kanji

These lacquered paper, personalized kanji earrings are made with one of my favorite shapes – the shield. It just works well, it’s graceful, the earrings are petite…but big enough to have presence – and the kanji is pretty!

These have the kanji that says Jenny:

And no, I didn’t make them for myself, I haven’t been called “Jenny” for a while now. And Jen or Jennifer use other kanji. We can do those too 😉

Personalized initial jewelry – lariat or belt

I’ve been playing with the idea of making some chain belts – accented, of course, with some personalized lacquered paper drops. For instance, this lariat necklace could be made with sturdier chain (or faux leather, perhaps) and become a very snazzy belt:

Stay tuned for a bit (or come back next week). I’m going to try it 🙂

Personalized jewelry – your name in Japanese, part…three?

Okay, I lose track, all right? I just wanted to show you these new earrings. They are personalized, part of my “Your Name in Japanese” collection, and I think the size and shape really work.

The earrings are only about 1″ long. The golden (raw) brass leverbacks are comfortable, much kinder to the skin than plated earwires – and considerably less expensive than goldfilled ones (which can be used too, by special arrangement). And, well, I think the slightly curvy, triangle shape is pretty cool.

Let me know what you think 😉

(Of course the colors as well as the kanji can be personalized, too!)
