Kanji (katakana) Meiyo or Honor Dogtag Necklace

This is a new version of a customer favorite – the dogtag pendant is a bit larger than my previous version (approx. 2″, the size of a standard U.S. military dogtag) with clean lined katakana (kanji) that says Meiyo, or Honor. It’s a best seller in my shop – and I think it’s kind of wonderful that “Honor” is a frequently requested kanji pendant.

Like all Paper Jewels, the color and size can be customized. And of course it makes a great Christmas present.

Just thought I’d mention it 🙂

Cast your vote today!

I’ll get back to my regularly scheduled commercial enterprises pronto. But today is an exciting, scary, American day – please, to all my U.S. viewers and customers, go vote! It matters.

And stay tuned!

Where does the time go and, Yay for the Cubbies!

Somehow life went going in other directions last year (yes, my Etsy jewelry supplies shop) and somehow a year has slipped by!

But you know, I’m not willing to let Paper Jewels slip away. I still love the idea of paper jewelry, if it’s made strong and durable – and mine is. It’s eco-friendly, which I love. And it is – sometimes anyway – original and interesting and different. And comfortable (I’m real fond of comfortable).

I like that it’s a little different. Apparently my customers do too – even with my shop on the back burner, I’m getting inquiries lately for custom work. Christmas presents, maybe?

So: let’s do this. Paper jewelry. It’s fun. It’s more expensive than my glass jewelry because, hello, takes a week to finish (and the glass gemstone work takes, hmm, fifteen minutes). And I’m doing a lot of new work these days. Stay tuned 🙂

P.S. No, it’s not related, and I’m not baseball obsessed, really, even though I do seem to keep mentioning it. But. The Cubbies! They won the Series! You don’t even have to be a baseball fan to love this. I’ll shut up about this now, really. But I mean. The Cubbies!

Happy Thanksgiving

Oh my goodness, it’s November already – it’s Thanksgiving already! I don’t know where the Fall has gone (or the summer!)

So I am just chiming in to say, Happy Thanksgiving. I don’t have a happy thanksgiving kanji necklace, darn. So I’m putting up a picture of a pair of Happiness earrings that I think are kind of pretty – and I do think Happiness is a good notion to share 🙂

Have a wonderful holiday. Eat a little too much, hug your relatives, laugh with the kids, and hey, even fall asleep in front of the football game. I never do that of course (yeah).

And I’ll be back soon 🙂

Yay Kansas City Royals!

Oh, I had to say it. Mostly I stay away from partisan sports, but these guys are right in my back yard! And the 5th game of the ALDS contest was so exciting – that 8th inning home run? Classic baseball excitement!

So yay Royals and may you win your way to the Series!

Personalized earrings say Brianna in Japanese katakana

These fun earrings say Brianna in Japanese katakana (yes, we Westerners casually call it “Japanese kanji” – the term katakana is actually more accurate). These are one of my favorite new shapes (and so far, my customers that have bought this new style, darling girls that they are, seem pretty happy with them!)

This cornflower blue color can be changed, of course – you can request whatever color you like best. And for that matter, you can choose your own name in kanji.

But you knew that already 😉

Pansy earrings. These are clip-ons :-)

Pansy earrings have been among the most popular earrings I’ve made the last few years. I’ve got several styles, in white and pink and purple…. and I’ve got some pretty ones on my new clip on earrings page.

purple and white pansy clip on earrings....made with lacquered paper

And though I am not supposed to say it, I really like them too 🙂 They’re feminine, they’re big enough to be seen and have a bit of design impact (a bit over 1″ long), but they’re not gaudy and showy. And of course they’re comfy. And since they’re made with lacquered paper, they’re great for that first anniversary gift you guys are looking for.

I think I’ve mentioned this before. Flowers. Jewelry. Paper. First anniversary 😉

Clip on earrings – new page

Clip on earrings are kind of having a resurgence these days. Pierced earrings – chandeliers, studs, etc, tend to get most of the attention – and manufacturers often assume that everybody has pierced ears. Well they don’t 😉

And I’ve started updating my “clip on earrings” pages. The new page is up here and there will be more to come.

Check out these clip on heart earrings:

They’re available in custom colors of course – but I think the bright red, orange and purple ones are really fun 😉

And like I said – more are on the way!

Red rose earrings – paper jewelry :-)

I love the simplicity of these earrings – the oval shape, the rich vivid color:

These earrings will make your outfit. I know, it’s just a pair of earrings – but they’re pretty, and the color is great, and they’re just big enough to give a vibe without being in your face. For work, for play – these can do that 🙂

Plus: lacquered paper, lightweight, easy to wear and comfy. Did I mention I’m really into comfy?

Your name in Japanese…this pendant says Angela

This teardrop necklace ssays Angela in Japanese kanji. This pretty robin’s egg blue color and antiqued silver “frame” make this design one of my most popular styles.

personalized kanji necklace that says Angela .... your name in Japanese

One of the great things about this style – besides the graceful shape and affordable cost – is that it can be made in antiqued brass or silver, and the personalized pendant can be any color. You can really make it your own. Your fave color, your choice of finish, your name. Personal is what it’s all about 🙂

P.S. And for an anniversary gift? Come on guys, this works!
